University of Sydney - School of Business
Designed by Woods Bagot in collaboration with Kann Finch, the University of Sydney Business School reimagines the historic Abercrombie Precinct as a single, cohesive campus — consolidating nine buildings around landmark trees and heritage structures. The architects drew inspiration from the sandstone vernacular of the broader campus, reinterpreting its stratified character through a contemporary ceramic skin that integrates the new buildings within their historic surroundings.
To achieve this, TCShade 50×130 sunscreen ceramic cladding was installed across the building's expansive glazed façade. The latticed screens filter natural light deep into the interior while providing meaningful solar shading — contributing to the building's double-skin envelope strategy and supporting the university's sustainability goals. The effect is both visually striking and functionally precise: a façade that connects past and present while actively improving the building's performance.
