Summer Road Trip 2012 started in West Virginia as Cladding Corp‘s Dave Stutts set out in his Toyota Prius to capture some new photos of various projects in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas and Colorado.  Joining him on the trip is his wife, Alison and their dog Max.  Averaging 48.3 miles per gallon – the trip kicked off in true sustainable style.  Cladding Corp is  the 1st Name in Rainscreen and the summer road trip was geared to highlight some of the sustainable designs that we have been able to be a part of in the past months and years and highlight the 5 Principles of Rainscreen design in action.

NBBJ of Columbus continues to lead in the category of higher education design with Cleveland State College of Education featuring glass and a drained and back-ventilated rainscreen using Cem5. The fiber cement panels were featured in two colors, with a darker panel to create shadow lines in the window returns.

The design team opted for a custom panel layout pattern for the fabricated Cem5 panels, adding flexibility and variation in panel layout with the windows selected.
