Nearly Complete: Armature Works Hotel - Washington, DC

Cladding Corp Swisspearl Rainscreen Cladding Panels Armature Works Hotel

This new mixed-use development in Washington, DC's NoMa neighborhood is sure to become an urban living epicenter for the city. The complete development will deliver apartments, shopping, dining, a hotel, and public plazas for the surrounding area. The design incorporates the District’s industrial roots combining the past and the future into a design that brims with energy and potential. Cladding Corp worked with the design and construction management team to provide Swisspearl panels for the exterior cladding of the Hotel elevations, in addition to ECO Cladding Vci.10 and Hci.11 Systems for an engineered sub-framing approach for the fiber cement and metal panel attachment.

In line with Cladding Corp's vision for elemental materials from the "ground-up," Swisspearl is proudly made up of natural raw materials from the Swiss mountains: cement, pulverized limestone, water, and air.  In addition, less energy is consumed during the manufacture of Swisspearl panels, as compared to many other leading building materials. Swisspearl facades can be easily installed to retrofit or reclad existing structures as well as be effortlessly removed when it is time for a new design direction. And with a lifespan of over 40 years, Swisspearl improves both the ecological and economical outcomes of every building envelope.

By pairing Swisspearl panels with our engineered systems give architects and installers the needed resources to design intelligent rainscreen walls that address deep cavity systems, continuous insulation (c.i.), and other code and industry standards. Our systems for fiber cement cladding, in partnership with ECO Cladding, are also designed to give architects aesthetic freedom to incorporate concealed, lap-siding, or visible attachments.
